My friends who know me have heard me talk about how frustrating it is to look at IT tools that are more focused on speeds and feeds vs. ease of use from and end users perspective. FireScope's vision; from the day we founded the company was to simplify IT operations and make it easier for all parts of an organization to understand the business impact of their IT infrastructure investment. In the past as both a CFO and a COO I always felt I could never get straight answers to simple questions like:
- What is the cost for a service ( i.e. CRM, ERP, E-mail) that I provide to the organization. Can I look at it by user/dept/total Company? What is the cost of not having the service available?
- What causes my services to not be available?
- Can I understand the Impact without a 9 month project or consultants who become part of my organization?
You get the point, while technology is important it is equally important to understand how technology is impacting my business. To help managers and executives to see how their IT operations are impacting their business, FireScope, introduced the world's first touch screen user interface for BSM. The touch screen can be used with touch pads and other handheld devices such as I-Phones etc. But what I get excited about is how easy the UI is to use, you can navigate with a touch of your finger the entire FireScope' BSM solution through its touch user interface - check it out at http://engage.firescope.com/overview.asp . My belief is the easier you make it for folks to get to information, the more engaged they become with it and the more they become comfortable using the information to help make better business decisions.
I would love to know your thoughts….
Steve
You're absolutely on the right track here Steve. Ease of use opens the door for real communication. Assuming you've got all the ducks in a row behind the scenes, innovation like this will differentiate FireScope.
My initial thoughts on my blog here http://dougmcclure.net/blog/2008/04/firescope-continues-business-service-management-innovation/. I can't wait to hear from your clients using this!

Steve,
You are providing a service that customers have been asking for along time. They want to be able to see the entire IT infrastructure not just one silo. This product will help alleviate the finger pointing as to who's problem it is. The ability to view the entire infrastructure at one time will make you a leader in the industry. Keep up the innovation.
